What streaming software do you use for gaming?

I don't actually use streaming software at all, because I mainly play locally and don't stream regularly. But when I want to record something - like if the kids want to see later how mom does in the skiing game - I go with OBS Studio. It's free, relatively beginner-friendly, and you can also cut footage for videos with it. My husband installed it for me back then and it's been working pretty decently since.

If I ever did stream live (which honestly doesn't happen that often with my hectic everyday life with the kids), I'd do it through Twitch because most gaming communities hang out there. But you don't really need much extra for that - Twitch has its own broadcast function too. Some people swear by Streamlabs, but for my occasional use OBS is totally enough and less memory-hungry.

I think a good internet connection is more important when it comes down to it. When I'm gaming, the latency just has to be right, especially with fast-paced games. Other than that I'm not too picky - as long as it runs smoothly and the image quality is okay.
