Whether Blue Lock is worth it really depends on what hooks you in an anime. The previous answers are right that the matches are visually stunning and the tactical layer can be interesting - but here's the thing a lot of people miss: the anime only works if you can get behind the main character. Isagi isn't the deepest character, and if his constant "I want to get better" mantra gets on your nerves, you'll feel like something's missing throughout the whole series. The story is really straightforward, no major plot twists or surprises - it's mostly about him playing against increasingly stronger opponents and learning from it.
That doesn't mean it's bad though. If you're into anime where the action is well-executed and where matches play out like actual games with strategy (not just "whoever has the stronger punch wins"), then you'll definitely get something out of it. The soccer scenes are more ambitiously animated than in a lot of other sports anime. Some people find that boring, others think that's exactly what makes it fresh. Just try the first episode - if Isagi's personality annoys you or if the matches don't grab you after 20 minutes, then it's pretty clear it's not for you. You're not wasting your time on a whole series if you can tell it doesn't click.
