Is Dandadan really worth watching in 2026?
I've seen clips on TikTok and it looks insane with the aliens and all that, but I don't know if it's just hype or if it's actually good. Have you watched it? Who's it really for?

Dandadan really isn't just pure hype, the anime has got punch with a solid mix of action, humor, and likeable characters, including the dynamic between the two protagonists that works really well. That said, it's clearly a thing for fans of shonen/adventure stuff that's a bit wacky, with paranormal elements and cool fights, so if you don't dig that genre it's not gonna blow your mind. The TikTok clips give a pretty good sense of the style, so just watch an episode or two and you'll quickly know if it's for you - no need to force it.
Are you just looking for entertainment or do you want something with actual substance? Because Dandadan is definitely not just hype - the story balances action and humor really well, and the characters actually develop instead of staying as static archetypes. The thing to watch out for is that it sometimes goes completely off the rails, like you're following some paranormal logic and then suddenly it's pure insanity, but honestly that's also what makes it feel fresh and unpredictable!
If you're just watching thinking "oh this is gonna be cool alien action stuff," you might end up disappointed because it's clearly way more than that! The anime really works because it mixes the absurdity of the creatures with character dynamics that are adorable and funny, so you gotta be open to that side of it too and not just expect pure spectacle.
