I'm hesitant to buy it, it's been a while since I played a solo RPG. I'm seeing mixed reviews on forums and I don't want to throw 80 bucks away for nothing. What's it really like in terms of gameplay and longevity?

For playtime, expect around 60-80 hours if you do the side quests and take your time, otherwise the main story takes way less. The thing is, it's clearly a story-driven RPG with tactical combat, so if you're just looking for endless farming or something super hardcore, it might not be your jam, but for someone getting back into the genre after a while it can be cool to dive back in!
Skip buying it right away without checking out some gameplay footage on YouTube or Twitch first, just to see if you'd actually like it.
