CPU bottleneck with RTX 4070 - should I upgrade?

I've got an i5-10400 paired with an RTX 4070 and I'm noticing frame drops in games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth Wukong even at 1440p medium settings. My GPU usage is around 70-80% but CPU is hitting 95-100% constantly. Would upgrading to a newer CPU actually fix this or am I looking at a full platform swap?

Your i5-10400 is definitely the weak link here - those are demanding games and that CPU can't keep up with a 4070. You'd need a full platform upgrade (new CPU, motherboard, RAM) to really eliminate the bottleneck, so grab something like a current-gen i7 or Ryzen 7, and yeah, that's going to cost you but it'll actually let your GPU breathe and you'll see way better frame stability.
