Is it bad to put freelance work from Fiverr on my CV?

I've been doing freelance work on Fiverr for about 8 months now (video editing, graphic design) while I was studying. Now I'm looking for a formal job and I'm not sure if I should include this on my CV or if employers will look down on it. How do I present it without making it seem like I've just been doing odd jobs?

I've seen a lot of recruiters reject candidates for only having digital platforms with no context, so the trick is to detail exactly what projects you completed, not just the name of the platform. Instead of writing "Fiverr" or being vague with "freelancer," put something like "Video editing and graphic design for international clients (2024-present)" with two or three concrete examples of what you did - for instance, if you edited YouTube videos, mention that; if you designed book covers, put it. Employers value seeing that you have real experience, even if it's from a platform, because it shows that someone paid you for your work and you delivered. If you have a portfolio or links to your work, even better - that way you avoid it looking like a side gig and it comes across as legitimate experience in your field.

Put it on your CV but frame it as "Independent Professional" or "Video Editing and Graphic Design Specialist" instead of mentioning Fiverr directly - that way it sounds more professional without hiding anything. What matters is highlighting the specific projects you did: how many clients you worked with, what kind of videos or designs they were, whether you improved anything like turnaround time or quality. Employers don't look down on freelance work, quite the opposite - many value that you have real experience and have handled clients, deadlines, and your own business even if it's small. If they ask you in the interview where you got them, just say it was through online platforms and leave it at that - that's totally normal in 2026.
