Is it worth building a cellar in a new house or is a refrigerator enough?

What is the main storage for - vegetables from your own garden, or just store-bought products?

If you have a garden and grow potatoes, carrots, beets - then a cellar is worth making, a fridge won't fit the harvest and the conditions are different there. For regular store-bought stuff, a fridge with a freezer is enough.
