Is it worth switching to natural aluminum-free deodorants?

Lately I've been reading a lot of articles about natural aluminum-free deodorants, like Lamazuna and stuff like that. I was wondering if they actually work well or if it's just a trend. I've always used regular stuff like Dove and I'm not sure if it makes sense to switch.

It really depends on what kind of sweating you have and how sensitive your skin is. Aluminum-free natural deodorants do work, but they're often less effective than traditional ones, especially if you sweat a lot - personally I like them for everyday office use, but when I'm doing sports or it's blazing hot in summer I go back to the regular kind. It's not a scam, but it's not a revolution either; it's worth trying them and seeing how your skin and body respond, because it's not about following trends but about what actually works for you.

The thing is, natural aluminum-free deodorants aren't bad, but they won't work miracles if you sweat a lot. Try doing this: keep one of your regular deodorants for days when you know you'll have a heavy day, and use the natural one on the other days. That way you save some money (since they cost more than Dove) without giving up protection when you really need it. If your skin doesn't have problems with aluminum, switching completely isn't necessary, but alternating between them can be a good compromise to see if you like the natural one without having to give it up entirely.

The aluminum issue is a bit more nuanced than what you read online. Aluminum in deodorants is designed to block sweat (antiperspirant), while natural ones without aluminum usually just neutralize the odor. If your problem is visible sweat, you'll probably notice a difference and it won't be a good one. But if your problem is just the smell and you don't sweat that much, then a natural deodorant could work just fine.

What makes sense is to test it without pressure. Maybe grab one of these natural ones and use it for a normal week, not on a day when you know you've got an important meeting or you're going to work out. That way you'll actually figure out if it works for your body and your lifestyle, not based on the marketing. Some people do great with natural deodorants, others smell after three hours and switch back to the regular stuff. It's not necessarily a bad trend, it's just that it doesn't work the same for everyone.
