I'm thinking about picking up Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish, but it's pretty expensive and I haven't used it since the early 2010s. Back then everyone swore by it, but now there's so many free apps like Duolingo and Babbel. Does the software still hold up or should I just stick with the cheaper alternatives?
what's your learning style - do you prefer structured lessons or jumping around? honestly rosetta stone hasn't changed that dramatically and it's still solid for immersion-style learning, but unless you specifically need that approach, you'd probably get 80% of the benefit from duolingo or babbel for way less money.
