Compare the quotes line by line, because insurers have really hiked up rates on 125 sportbikes lately - higher claim frequency, rising deductibles, third-party coverage that's changing. If you compare with last year it's easy to verify, but a 60% increase isn't uncommon right now even though it's a pain. Also check if you've got unreasonable deductibles or coverage you never actually negotiated - sometimes insurers slip things in by default when you get a new quote.

It's unfortunately normal - insurers have really tightened up on 125s lately because of rising claims, especially among young riders. Lots of companies have either bumped up their base rates or stopped covering that engine size altogether, so competition's dropped and prices have followed. Try comparing quotes through online brokers or comparison sites - sometimes you'll find less aggressive offers - and don't skip checking if insurers that specialize in young bikers have anything more reasonable to offer.
