Should I move my savings to cryptocurrency to protect against inflation?

I've had money in my account for several years now, and it's losing value because of inflation. I heard that some people buy Bitcoin or Ethereum as a hedge. But I don't know much about crypto - is it riskier than regular deposits? And roughly how much money do you need to get started?

Cryptocurrency is a completely different level of risk compared to deposits. Bitcoin and Ethereum prices swing wildly - you could lose half your investment in a week, or make money, but that's not protection against inflation, it's more like gambling. If you don't really know what you're doing and you need the money, you'd be better off looking at regular deposits with interest rates above inflation, foreign currency accounts, or bonds - at least you know what's going to happen there. Crypto only makes sense for money you're willing to lose without it hurting you.
