Network printing makes sense if you share a printer with other devices or people in your home or office, since you won't need to keep a computer powered on just to print. USB is simpler if it's just one machine using one printer and you don't mind the cable setup. The real question is whether the convenience of wireless access and multi-device printing is worth dealing with network setup and occasional connection hiccups - some people find those wifi printer issues annoying enough that they stick with USB despite the cable clutter.
How many devices do you actually print from in a week? If it's more than one or two, network printing saves you the headache of switching cables around and keeps you from needing to hunt down your computer just to print something from your phone or tablet!
