I got the Momentum half a year ago and I'm pretty happy with them, honestly though not for the reasons you read everywhere. Yeah, the sound is warm and pleasant, especially if you listen to a lot of music and aren't constantly out in loud environments. At home when I'm relaxing after work, they're just comfortable - no treble that gets on your nerves. But the noise cancellation is pretty mediocre, if I'm being honest. When I go shopping with them or I'm at my family's place, I quickly notice that I'm still picking up a lot of noise.
I'd go with the Sony if you're out in loud environments a lot or have to commute. You really notice the difference there - they just block out way more noise. They also last longer and the battery life is noticeably better. But here's the thing: the sound isn't bad, but for me personally it's colder and less relaxing. That's a matter of taste, but if you want to listen to music in a relaxed way a lot, that could bother you.
Honestly? It really comes down to where you're gonna use them. Need a fortress against noise, get the Sony. Just want good headphones for cozy listening at home and decent ANC on the side, then the Sennheiser is totally fine and you don't really need to spend the extra money on those features.
The Sony XM6s have slightly better noise cancellation and last longer, while the Sennheiser sounds a bit warmer and more natural - it really depends on what matters more to you. If you're on the go a lot and need maximum ANC, I'd go with the Sony, but the Momentum fit better if you mainly listen to music and don't care as much about noise cancelling.
