Tips for sewing stretchy fabrics like Jersey without them getting puckered?

I'm trying to make myself a summer t-shirt with a Jersey fabric I got from Tessuti.com, but every time I sew the seams come out all puckered and ugly. I have a Singer that someone gave me two years ago, nothing fancy. What do you guys recommend - do I need to use a different needle or is there a trick?

A jersey needle (like a 75/11 or 80/12) really makes a difference, but the real trick is using a walking foot if you have one, or stabilizing the fabric with a sheet of paper underneath while you sew - tear it away after and the puckering disappears. Also try not to pull the fabric while you're sewing, let the machine do the work, and maybe reduce the top thread tension a bit if it looks too tight.
