From my experience, Booking.com has way better filters and the search is more intuitive, so I'd give them the point. With Trivago I always feel a bit lost because the overview seems more chaotic. But ultimately it depends on what you need - some people like Trivago's comparison function, but personally Booking wins every time for me.
