Underfloor heating or radiators - which is more cost-effective for heating?

I want to understand whether it's worth installing radiant floor heating instead of radiators in my new house. The installation cost difference is huge, but maybe I can save on gas by lowering the temperature of the heating fluid?

In theory, underfloor heating is more economical - it operates at a lower coolant temperature and heats the room more evenly, which reduces heat loss. But in practice, the difference in gas consumption isn't that big, maybe 15-20% at best, and installation will cost several times more than radiators. If the house is new and well-insulated, the difference in bills might be barely noticeable. It makes sense to install underfloor heating if you have chronic problems with cold floors or if aesthetics matter a lot to you, whereas savings are more of a nice bonus than the main reason.
