I have a Bosch WAJ2840, and after the cycle finishes the door just won't open. I tried waiting about 10 minutes, then pressing the open button - nothing works. There's still water in the drum. What could this be and how do I open it without breaking anything?
If there's water left in the drum, the door won't open - it's a safety feature to prevent flooding. Try to find the emergency drain: usually it's a plastic plug or hose at the bottom front of the machine, open it and drain the water into a bucket. After that, the door should open normally.
If there's no water in there but the door still won't open - the electromagnetic lock might be stuck. Unplug the machine for about 15 minutes, then plug it back in and try opening it again. If that doesn't help either, call a repair person - you shouldn't try anything else without experience, you risk damaging the lock.
