A Google Sheet isn't really a calendar at all - it's just a spreadsheet with data. The system can't send notifications like a real calendar does, can't sync with your friend's phone, and can't remind her a day before the meeting. No wonder she forgets - the information just sits somewhere in the cloud, and nobody's actively reminding her about it.
Switch to Google Calendar or Yandex.Calendar instead - you can add events, share access with another person, and the system will automatically send notifications to her phone. You can set reminders for an hour before, a day before, a week before - whatever works for you. Your friend will get a push notification straight to her phone instead of relying on the hope that she'll remember to check the spreadsheet herself.
If you want to keep it really simple, even a regular chat bot (like on Telegram) would work - you can add meetings there and the bot will send reminders. But a full-featured calendar is more convenient because you can see the whole month at a glance and it's easier to plan. Just ask your friend to download the app and send her the link to the shared calendar - it's set up in two minutes.
