Wedding on a weekday or weekend - what's the price difference?

Main rule: weekends are more expensive, and this applies to everyone - photographers, restaurants, musicians. The difference can be significant, especially during peak season. Photographers typically charge 30-50% more for weekends than on weekdays, because Saturday and Sunday are their busy days when everyone wants their wedding then. Restaurants also raise prices on weekends or set minimum bill amounts. Musicians rarely get cheaper on Saturdays - if anything, the opposite.

Friday is also almost a weekend for many guests, but officially it's a workday, so prices are usually lower than on Saturday. Try talking to specific vendors in your city - maybe the difference between Friday and Saturday isn't as huge as in big cities. Sometimes in smaller places prices are the same because there's not much choice anyway. Either way, it's better to request quotes for both options - then there won't be any questions later.

And one more tip: if Friday ends up cheaper by even 20-30%, that's already savings you can spend on something else for the wedding. The bride can be happy if the wedding is beautiful, not because it happens to be on a Saturday.
