What's going on with Volvo Cars and all these new models they're planning?

I saw that Volvo wants to launch 13 new car models by 2030 and double their market share. That's a pretty ambitious plan. Does this mean they're going electric, or what kind of cars are they making? Should I wait to buy a car or are these going to take ages to come out?

Don't hold off on buying a car just waiting for Volvo's pipeline - 2030 is still several years away, and their rollout will be staggered. Volvo's definitely pushing hard into electric vehicles as part of that plan, but they're also working on hybrid and traditional models to phase in gradually, so the mix will be broader than just EVs. The ambitious target is real, but it doesn't mean all 13 hit the market at once or that current models become obsolete overnight. If you need a car now, go for it; if you're just curious about what's coming, keep an eye on their announcements without letting that dictate your timing.

The staggered rollout means you could see some models hit the market in the next couple of years while others stretch toward 2030, so there's no single "wait or buy now" moment. Worth noting that Volvo's also hedging their bets - they're going electric but not abandoning combustion engines entirely, so they're not betting the farm on one technology shift like some manufacturers are doing.
