Are you thinking about going alone or are you scared to go? Buenos Aires is pretty chill for a first solo trip - the city is beautiful, people are welcoming, and you can get by easily with Spanish or English.
Buenos Aires is really incredible, but I'll be honest - the city isn't as laid-back as it seems at first! You've got pretty safe neighborhoods like San Telmo and La Boca, but there are also places where you need to keep your eyes open, especially at night. People are welcoming, sure, but Portuguese won't help you as much as it does in more mainstream tourist cities - you'll need to rely on Spanish or English instead. Your first time solo is exciting because you have total freedom to explore at your own pace, but I'd recommend staying alert to the basics: don't carry too many credit cards, avoid obviously flashing expensive tech, and use public transport during the day without worries!
The first thing nobody mentions is the exchange rate. Buenos Aires is super expensive for Brazilians right now, and a lot of people get there thinking they'll spend less because the Argentine peso dropped. But it doesn't really work that way - tourist prices (hotels, restaurants, attractions) are still high, and you end up spending quite a bit even if the exchange rate seems favorable. You can travel on a tight budget, but it's pretty rough for your first time when you want to enjoy yourself more.
The good thing is it really is a relaxed city to walk around alone. Spanish is pretty easy to pick up if you speak Portuguese, and most people help when you're lost. San Telmo, Palermo and La Boca have tourist traffic and you don't feel isolated. The real problem is planning your neighborhoods properly - some areas are safe during the day but get empty and sketchy at night, so you need to plan ahead.
Bring more money than you think you'll need. Cards work almost everywhere, but some places charge a fee or want cash, and ATMs don't always have money in them. Meeting people at an Airbnb or at a bar helps a lot so you don't feel as alone, but it's not essential - you can enjoy yourself fine going to museums, catching a movie, eating at a good restaurant. Just don't expect it to be as cheap as it was five years ago.
