Don't listen to your boyfriend, those quizzes are literally the most addictive thing on the planet 😅 I'm not really a TikTok person but whenever I get into those general knowledge or movie trivia ones I end up spending an hour on there without even noticing. Honestly almost all my friends are glued to the same stuff, so you're definitely not alone in this. The only thing is maybe you should set a time limit so it doesn't drive you crazy, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying them, especially if you like competing with yourself and seeing how much you know 💪

I'm not really into TikTok honestly, but I've seen those quizzes around and I get why they're so addictive - the structure of those games is literally designed to be addictive. If you're into that kind of trivia but without all the endless scrolling, there are quiz apps that work pretty well and at least you know when to stop.

I also fall into those trivia games every now and then, though sometimes they bore me because they're too basic. What really hooks me more are the ones where they ask you questions about video games or pop culture, those ones have me there for hours without realizing it. Then I open my eyes and half the afternoon has gone by, haha. Your boyfriend has a point that they're addictive, but honestly, it's not like it's the most unproductive thing in the world if you're having fun.

What most people don't see is that those apps are really designed to hook you - the way they give you points, the fire streaks, the competition with others... all that stuff is calculated to make you keep coming back. It's not your fault that you get lost in there, it's that they're made that way on purpose. That said, if your boyfriend complains a lot maybe you could suggest something - like playing some together or setting a time of day without phones. Either way, spending some time on trivia is basically the same as anything else you do on TikTok, so don't feel guilty. People waste time on social media in a million different ways.

But which one gets you more hooked, general knowledge or specific topics? I'll admit those quizzes are addictive because they give you instant feedback and that dopamine hit from seeing your score, but what bugs me is that a lot of them have pretty questionable questions or poorly worded ones, so I always end up questioning whether the answers are actually correct or not. That's just me though, I know.

Patricia95 asker Honestly, I love general knowledge ones more. Specific questions are sometimes way too niche. And yeah, totally agree about the sketchy answers, same thing happens to me.
