What should I do if I get an email that looks like it's from my bank asking me to verify my details?

I got an email supposedly from Banco Santander asking me to click a link to verify my account because they detected suspicious activity. The email has the bank's logo and everything looks really real, but something feels off about it. Should I click or is it a scam?

Don't click on that link, it's almost certainly a scam (phishing). Banks never ask you to verify information via email or send you links to enter your account details. If you're worried about something, close that email and call customer service directly at the number on the back of your card or on the bank's official website by typing the URL yourself in the browser, without copying anything from the email. Check the sender's address carefully too, lots of times they claim to be from the bank but come from something like "santander-verificacion@dominio-raro.com".

Period. Banks never ask you to verify information via email, so it's definitely phishing; if you have any doubt, call the number on your card or the bank's official website directly.
