I'm looking to rebuild a collection of movies I really enjoyed back in the 2000s-2010s, like the classic Marvel films or the Lord of the Rings trilogies on physical media. It's gotten tough to find them new, and the prices are sometimes insane on specialist sites. Where do you guys buy them?
Prices are high, especially if you're looking for new stuff, but used is really not that expensive. Check out Leboncoin or Vinted, you'll find tons of DVDs/Blu-rays in good condition at reasonable prices - people are always getting rid of their collections. Secondhand shops like Emmaüs or flea markets are also pretty decent if you've got the patience for it, and honestly it's more fun than clicking around on the internet.
Vinted and Leboncoin are obviously the basics, but I'd also suggest checking out local garage sales and flea markets - you can negotiate directly with sellers and you avoid shipping costs that can kill the final price on big boxsets like Lord of the Rings.
