Where to buy good quality anti-theft backpacks without spending a lot?

I'm looking for a backpack that's secure for walking around the street and using public transport, but without breaking the bank. I've seen some on Amazon and in local stores, but I'm not sure if they actually work or if it's just marketing. Does anyone have recommendations for brands worth the money?

I won't lie to you - decent anti-theft backpacks do exist, but the "without spending much" part is pretty relative here. The ones that actually work (hidden zippers, cut-resistant fabric, secure internal compartments) run at least 40-60 euros minimum. The 15-20 euro ones are mostly just for show: they look nice visually but don't have the construction that really protects you. That said, there are pretty reasonable options if you know where to look.

Amazon has plenty of brands that work well, like Pacsafe or Bobby (the latter is pretty popular). But also check local sporting goods or luggage stores: sometimes they have lesser-known brands but just as reliable for less money. The trick is to specifically look for backpacks with hidden pockets, zippers that close inward, and if you can find one, something with an anti-theft panel on the back. Reviews tend to be pretty honest about whether they hold up or not.

One thing that happens a lot is people buy the cheapest anti-theft backpack and then get disappointed. Invest a bit more if you can, because the difference between a 25-euro one and a 50-euro one is huge in terms of durability and actual features. And remember that even with a secure backpack, habits matter too: don't just leave it lying around, keep your pockets zipped, that kind of thing.
