Which crossbody bag is waterproof and not too expensive?
I'm out on my bike a lot and my current Eastpak bag is done for after 3 years. Looking for something compact that keeps my phone and wallet safe, even when it rains.

I know that problem all too well! I'm constantly biking around on my farm, and I've already worn out quite a few bags. After a couple of bad purchases, I realized that it's really important to buy something decent if you're outside a lot.
Check out the bags from Vaude - they're made specifically for cyclists and often have waterproof materials. They're not super cheap, but they last forever, and you're not paying like you would with all those trendy brands. There are also the classic messenger bags from Ortlieb, those are even properly waterproof and compact enough for your phone and wallet. If you really want to save money, also check out Decathlon, they've got crossbody bags in their Quechua label for maybe 20-30 euros, which are at least water-resistant coated and work great for getting started.
My tip: pay attention to the description to make sure they're either waterproof or at least water-repellent - that's a big difference! And it's best to buy that kind of thing somewhere you can return it in case it doesn't work out. I've had a Decathlon bag on my bike for two years now and it's holding up great, even though I thought it wouldn't last long. Sometimes the cheap stuff is just more practical than the expensive stuff.
