Been playing bullet and blitz on Lichess for like 8 months now, mostly 1v1 games, and my rating just won't move past 1200. I watch some YouTube tutorials but I don't really do puzzles. Should I be focusing on something different to actually get better?
Puzzles are honestly the gap here - they train you to spot tactical shots that win material, which is huge in faster time controls where calculation matters more than opening knowledge. Try doing 10-15 minutes of puzzles daily before you play, and you'll probably see your rating climb fairly quickly since most players at that level miss basic tactics.
