I think it's partly a shift in how people see work-life balance now - folks are less willing to arrange childcare or leave kids behind, especially if it cuts into family time. Some parents just integrate their kids into social events rather than treating them as separate from adult life, which honestly works fine if the host is cool with it. That said, not everyone loves it, and there's definitely still tension between people who expect adult-only dinner parties and those bringing their families along.
