Why does my cat vomit after eating wet food?

I have a 4-year-old female cat and I've been giving her wet food from the Sheba brand for a few months now because I thought it would be better than dry food. But she almost always throws up between 10 and 30 minutes after eating. Could it be because of the brand change or because she's eating too fast? She doesn't have any other unusual symptoms.

It could be several things. The most common reason is that she's eating too fast, especially if wet food is easier to swallow than dry. Some cats get excited and gulp without chewing, which causes vomiting almost immediately. There's also the possibility of a brand or food type change: your cat's digestive system got used to dry food for years, and switching all at once to wet food (with different texture, water content, additives) can irritate her stomach. Some cats are sensitive to certain ingredients in Sheba in particular.

What I'd recommend is trying a few things: first, if possible, switch to smaller portions spread throughout the day instead of one big meal. That slows down how fast she eats. Second, try going back to dry food or looking for a different brand of wet food to see if it's really Sheba that's not sitting well with her. If you switch brands, do it gradually: mix the new food little by little with the old one over a few days so her stomach can adjust. Third, wait a few minutes after she eats before she plays or moves around a lot, because that can also trigger vomiting.

If the problem keeps happening after you try this, it's better to take her to the vet to rule out something more serious like gastritis or food allergies. But in young cats without other symptoms, it's usually just from eating too fast or sensitivity to that specific change.
