I've got a Samsung WF-400 from like 2008 and lately there's this nasty smell coming from the drum. I've run the cleaning cycle a few times and wiped down the rubber seal, but it still stinks. Is this normal for machines that old?
That's pretty common with machines that old, especially if it's been sitting unused or you're doing a lot of cold water washes since mold and mildew thrive in those conditions. the rubber seal is usually the culprit - even after wiping it down, moisture gets trapped underneath and between the folds where you can't easily reach. try running a hot water cycle with white vinegar or bleach (not both) and leave the door open between washes so air can circulate, but honestly if the smell wont go away after a few tries the seal might need replacing which runs maybe $50-100 in parts plus labor if you don't diy it.
