To be honest, I'm not really into video games - I work at a hospital and mostly bake cookies in my free time. But from what I've heard from friends who play Elden Ring, the puzzles there are more of a side thing and optional rather than harder than the bosses. Maybe try looking for guides online or on Reddit - gamers there will explain the mechanics of hidden areas in more detail.
