I recently started playing Elden Ring, and I keep coming across some hidden areas and mechanics that clearly need to be figured out. Can this stuff actually be harder than the bosses themselves?
In Elden Ring, the puzzles are mostly pretty straightforward - the main thing is paying attention and being willing to explore the locations.
The game's difficulty really comes from the bosses, especially in the later areas, rather than from logic puzzles. Sure, there are a couple of tricky spots with unconventional mechanics, but that's more of an exception - if you can handle the main bosses, the hidden mechanics shouldn't give you much more trouble. You just occasionally need to experiment a bit or watch a video if you're really stuck.
