Solving a Rubik's Cube - which method is easiest to learn?

The layer-by-layer method (or beginner's method) is the most intuitive one for most people because you simply complete one side, then the middle layer, then the last side. At first you might only need to memorize 5-6 algorithms instead of 70+, which makes the entry barrier significantly lower.
