Did your sister play it offline or did she need an internet connection while playing?
Because there are several games that fit what you're describing. The most likely is **Threes!** or its most popular clone, **2048**, where you slide numbers or blocks to combine them. But if they were really colors that had to match and it looked more like solving a puzzle, it was probably **Candy Crush** (though that's more well-known), or more likely something like **Flow Free**, where you connect dots of the same color without the lines crossing.
Now, if what you saw were blocks you literally moved on a grid to match the colors, it could be **Bloxorz**, **Sokoban**, or one of those sliding block puzzle games. There are tons of them on the Play Store and App Store under the name "color match puzzle" or "block puzzle". The best way to find it is to ask your sister directly or check the download history on her phone if she has an Android mobile (in Settings > Apps > downloads). On iOS it's a bit more hidden but you can also see the history in the App Store. If you remember anything more specific - whether it had a time limit, if there were levels, if the background was colored - that would help you narrow it down.
