I'm looking for freelance translation jobs, but I'm not sure anymore whether to use Fiverr, Upwork or try other platforms like PeoplePerHour. Which one is better for making decent money without getting underpaid?
I'm not in your field but from what I see around, Upwork is still the most reliable even though the competition is insane and you need a really solid profile to not get buried. Fiverr these days is more for people doing simple quick jobs, it's not great if you want serious clients who pay well. I'd try pairing Upwork with more niche platforms like ProZ if you do technical translations, that way you position yourself better and don't depend on just one source, that's what I'd do instead of spreading yourself thin across twenty different places.
