Can nausea come back in the second trimester?
I'm 16 weeks pregnant, and nausea completely went away a month ago. But this week it's started coming back, especially in the mornings. Is this normal or is something wrong?

Actually, nausea in the second trimester isn't rare, even though many people think it should be completely gone by then. Some women do get relief by the end of the first trimester, but others might experience it coming and going in waves, especially if their diet, routine, or even weather changes. Plus, around week 16 your body goes through another shift - your uterus is growing, your blood pressure changes, and your digestion works harder.
That said, it's worth paying attention to how this nausea differs from what you had before. If it's just mild queasiness in the mornings - that's usually nothing to worry about. But if you also have belly pain, dizziness, your vision darkens, or you're feeling nauseous really often - it's better to message your OB or call your clinic. Honestly, with pregnancy it's easier to err on the side of caution.
Practically speaking: eating frequent small meals helps, ginger, vitamin B6 (though doctors prescribe that), fresh air. If the nausea is really uncomfortable - talk to your doctor, they might want to check some labs. But nausea at this stage is a normal process in itself.
Have you already tried changing anything in your routine - when you wake up, how you eat, whether you're drinking enough?
Nausea in the second trimester comes back more often than it seems. Yeah, for a lot of people it goes away by weeks 12-14, but that's not the rule. Nausea in the second trimester is affected by completely different factors: your growing uterus is pressing on your internal organs, your digestion changes, you might not be getting enough iron or something else with micronutrients. Sometimes it's a psychological thing - stress, fatigue, a change in the weather. So in your case it's probably just normal.
Try to track when the nausea is worse: only in the mornings or all day, after certain foods, when you're tired or you've been lying down for a while. If you're just feeling slightly queasy once in a while and your other tests are normal, that's nothing to freak out about. But if the nausea is severe, you can't eat anything or you're vomiting a lot - then it's worth mentioning to your doctor at your next visit. Usually what helps is eating small meals frequently, ginger, fresh air, and getting enough sleep.
