The secret is using a primer specifically designed for furniture before chalk paint, because if you don't, the paint will peel no matter how much you sand the oak. Titanlux has a good reputation and I've seen it last for years on furniture that gets a lot of use, but honestly both brands work if you prepare the surface properly: sand with 120-150 grit, clean the dust thoroughly, and apply a base that grips. What usually fails isn't the paint but skipping steps - I made that mistake myself painting a desk a while back and after a few months it started chipping, but when I redid it with primer it held up beautifully.

Rust-Oleum works pretty well for furniture, I've seen it hold up for quite a while without peeling, but it really depends on how much prep work you do beforehand. What matters most is sanding the oak properly, cleaning off the dust, and applying a primer, because chalk paint on its own tends to chip if the furniture gets moved around a lot or you use it regularly. Titanlux is good too, but both brands will last just as long if you do a decent job with the base coat.
