Does anyone play Ticket to Ride: Europe? I need recommendations

I've been wanting to get into more serious board games for a couple of months and someone recommended this one to me. Is it worth buying or are there better alternatives to start with? My friend group is about 5-6 people and we want something that's not too complicated but has more going for it than the same old Parcheesi.

Ticket to Ride Europa is a really solid option for getting into more serious games - the mechanics are pretty intuitive (basically you collect colored cards to claim routes between cities) and it plays well with 5-6 people even if it does run a bit long. If you want something similar but maybe a touch faster, Carcassonne is in that same complexity level but with a different vibe - you build a map as you play. Either way, if Ticket to Ride Europa already caught your interest, go for it, because it's a classic for a reason and most people enjoy it from the first game without needing to read 20-page rulebooks.

The nice thing about that game is that matches flow pretty quickly (rounds of 45 minutes to an hour) so it doesn't get tedious if someone plays slow, and with 5-6 people it runs smooth without anyone getting bored waiting for their turn. If you end up buying it, just a heads up that the first game's gonna seem a bit slow because people are second-guessing themselves, but after that it picks up pace.
