Has anyone tried serums with niacinamide? Do they actually work?

I see ads for serums with niacinamide everywhere on TikTok, they say they help with enlarged pores and oiliness. I have combination skin, my T-zone is constantly shiny. Is it worth trying or is it just marketing?
