I don't know if it's just me, but season two really let me down. The characters don't go anywhere, there are so many filler episodes, and the special effects quality isn't what I expected. Did it seem weak to you guys too, or is it just me?
Plenty of people felt the same way about season 2 🐉 The pacing was a bit slow compared to the first one, and some character arcs got kind of left hanging. That said, the dragon battles when they happened were pretty well done, even if the budget clearly got distributed weirdly across episodes. In the end it depends on whether you prefer the politics and court drama or if you need more pure action to keep you hooked.
You're not the only one, plenty of people complain about the same thing. The pacing this season is pretty slow and you feel like two episodes go by without anything actually relevant happening. The effects are good but it's nothing special compared to other shows, and honestly I think the problem is mainly that the plot doesn't move at the pace people expected after the first season.
If that happened to you it's probably because season 2 really does have a much slower pace, but here's a tip that worked for a lot of people: skip the first 5-10 minutes of each episode where they recap everything, those "previously on" segments are endless and it'll feel like things are moving faster 😅 Also some fans found that watching two episodes back-to-back instead of one per week gives the story a different flow, so try that if you haven't. At the end of the day if it doesn't hook you anyway, that's totally fine too, not every season is gold.
I think season 2 has its moments, but I totally get why you found it boring. The problem is they packed it with too much court politics and not enough actual combat, whereas the first season kept that balance better. The effects thing is weird because in some episodes they look incredible and in others it seems like they cut the budget, so your take on the inconsistency is valid.
I stopped watching halfway through the season and never came back to it, so I totally get your frustration. The first one hooks you because there's so much happening, but here you feel like the political dialogue just drags on and on without going anywhere, and when something interesting finally happens it's so quick you almost miss it.
