I haven't watched regular TV in a long time, only streaming services. But TV won't completely disappear - too many people are used to the familiar format, and for news it's more convenient for a lot of people anyway. I wouldn't say it's about replacement, more like coexistence: young people are definitely moving to streaming services, while older generations will keep watching TV. Switch to streaming if you want more freedom in choosing content and convenience - I don't regret it.

From my own experience I'd say - there won't be a complete replacement, but the trend is definitely shifting. My TV at home has been gathering dust for a while now, but with my parents it's the opposite - they're over 60 and they watch only TV because it's familiar and doesn't require you to pick from a thousand movies. I think video services will grab the young active audience, while regular TV will stick around for news, sports and the older generation - that'll last at least another 10-15 years minimum.

I haven't really watched regular TV for like five years now, and I'll be honest - I've completely switched to streaming for myself. It's incredibly convenient: you watch what you want, when you want, without ads every five minutes. But here's what I notice in practice - there won't be a complete replacement, and here's why. TV stays as background noise for a lot of people. You come home tired from the dacha, turn on the news or some movie, and you don't need to pick from thousands of options. For elderly people this is critical - they're not going to figure out subscriptions and interfaces. Plus sports events, big holiday broadcasts - TV's still king there.

As for streaming services, yeah, they're growing and will keep growing. But they've got their own downsides now - there used to be one subscription, now you need to pay for four different services to find the movie you want. Some people are actually going back to TV just because of the price. My recommendation - don't pick one or the other. Keep a TV at home for background and news, but definitely get at least one or two streaming services. For 100-150 rubles a month you get better content than on regular television. It's not competition, it's more like they complement each other.
