AirPods use Apple's proprietary AAC codec which isn't optimized for Windows, so that's why you're running into connection issues and dropouts. You can try updating your PC's Bluetooth drivers and resetting your AirPods (hold the button on the back for 20 seconds), but honestly the experience just won't be super stable on Windows. A good quality external USB Bluetooth adapter can help, but the best solution is really to use headphones designed for Windows or at least ones that work with standard Bluetooth 😅
