How do I make soup from frozen vegetables so it doesn't turn out watery?

ЮЛ Юлия RU 🌱 Newbie 👁 67 ⚑ Report Soups

I grab a bag of frozen carrots, potatoes and peppers from the freezer, throw it in boiling water, but the soup ends up watery and bland. Maybe I need to cook frozen vegetables differently somehow, or add something for flavor?

Don't just dump the vegetables straight into water - they'll release all their moisture and turn mushy and bland. First, sauté them in oil in the pot and let them brown a bit, then pour in the broth or water. That'll help the vegetables keep their flavor and texture. Also throw in a bouillon cube, a bay leaf, or just more salt and pepper - frozen vegetables are often pretty bland, and seasoning is what saves them.
