The safest way is to apply the perfume to your body before getting dressed. Spray it on your neck, wrists, and the areas that get the most heat (chest, inside of elbows). Let it dry completely - a few seconds is enough - before putting on your shirt or blouse. This way the alcohol in the spray doesn't come into direct contact with the fabric and there's no risk of staining or damaging it.
If you really want to apply it to your clothes, do it from at least 20 or 30 centimeters away, and only on less visible spots or where stains won't be noticed - like the inside of the collar or the back. The spray doesn't leave permanent marks on resistant fabrics (cotton, wool), but on delicate clothes or very light colors it can create damp patches or even leave a slightly darker residue while it dries. It really depends on the type of fabric.
The truth is there's a trick some people use: spray the clothes from a distance while they're already on your body, but only on the neck and chest area. Let them air out overnight and in the morning the scent stays but without any sign of moisture. The thing is to experiment with something you don't mind ruining until you figure out what works best with your clothes.
