How do I use the sonar/fish finder on my boat?

I bought a small boat recently and installed a fish finder I saw on Amazon. I'm unsure how to interpret the screens and the depth signals.

Those little dots or arcs that show up are the fish, the bigger the dot the fatter the fish is (or how dense the object is). The important tip is adjusting the sensitivity of the device depending on the water you're in (murky water needs more sensitivity, crystal clear water needs less) and ignoring that blob of lines at the bottom which is just algae or mud anyway. After you mess with it like 5, 6 times you'll get the hang of it, I promise.
