Ask your friends what they've found cool lately - honestly, it's way more reliable than algorithms that always push the same stuff on you!

At what you watched a few months ago, search for similar movies on IMDb or your streaming platform's algorithm - it actually works surprisingly well. Otherwise, scroll through reviews on Letterboxd or specialized forums, just read reviews from people who like the same stuff as you, and you'll quickly get a feel for whether it speaks to you. Skip the generic "best movies of the year" lists, they're usually too broad and don't really help. Easiest thing: ask a friend what they've enjoyed recently and go with a couple of the films they suggest - at least there's an actual person behind it, not just a blind algorithm.
