I want to go to a rock show next month, but ticket prices have been absolutely insane lately. I saw a show for the band I wanted to see and it's going for over 200 reais just for a regular ticket. Is that actually normal or are there some cheaper options out there?
It really depends on the band and venue, but 200 reais is pretty much the ballpark for big shows in SP these days. Check sites like Sympla or Ingressorapido because sometimes they have half-price tickets or early-bird discounts if you buy in advance, otherwise it gets pretty expensive.

What most people don't mention is that on top of the ticket there's that convenience fee that only shows up at the end, so you end up paying like 230, 250 reais easy. It's definitely worth paying attention to half-price tickets (if you qualify) and shows by smaller bands or at smaller venues instead of stadiums - prices drop a lot there. Also watch out for ticket resales on sites like Mercado Livre, because there's a lot of people trying to make a profit off them and tickets end up costing even more.
