How often should you let rats out to play?

Do you currently have rats or are you planning to get some? Most people let their rats out daily - ideally at least one to two hours, preferably more if possible. Rats are social and need lots of enrichment, otherwise they get bored and develop behavioral problems. It's also important that they're not alone, so they should be kept in pairs at minimum.
