I have a Mitsubishi Electric in my bedroom and the company that did the installation told me every 2 weeks, but that seems excessive to me. Where I live isn't a particularly polluted city and I open the balconies almost every day. How long does a filter actually last if you don't change it?
Every 2 weeks is really excessive 😅 If you open your windows regularly and you're not in a super polluted area, the filter usually lasts easily 1-2 months, maybe even longer if you vacuum it every now and then. The thing is it depends a lot on how much you use the air conditioner and how much dust actually circulates in your house, but the manufacturer's advice seems a bit too aggressive for maintenance to me 😬
The company is basically trying to sell you as many filters as possible, don't worry about it. I change mine every 3-4 weeks or so, it depends on how much I use it too, but if you open your balconies often and you're not in a shitty area air-wise I'd say you can easily wait a month, maybe even longer if you clean it with a vacuum now and then instead of replacing it right away.
