Is it worth buying a graphics tablet or an interactive display?

I'm thinking about starting to do digital illustrations on my PC and I'm not sure what to choose. A tablet like Wacom costs less, but I'm worried that drawing without seeing directly under the pen would feel weird. An interactive display is more expensive but at least you see where you're drawing. Which one do you prefer using?

Start with a regular tablet, seriously: you get used to drawing without looking directly under the pen pretty fast, like two weeks of practice and you stop thinking about it. An interactive screen is convenient but it's a big investment when you're still figuring out if you actually like doing this or not. Once you're more confident and have the money, you can always switch to a screen later with no regrets.
