I have some savings I'm not using and I've been seeing Bitcoin and Ethereum move around quite a bit last year. Several coworkers put money into crypto and some made good returns but others lost almost everything. Does anyone here invest in this stuff? How's the risk looking right now?
Don't put in money you can't afford to lose, because crypto volatility is brutal and 2025 was literally a perfect example of that! Those guys who made good gains probably just got lucky with their timing or went all-in, but the ones who lost almost everything show you the dark side of it: this market can wipe out your savings in a matter of weeks with no warning.
If you really want to get in, I'd only put in what you won't feel the pain of losing, diversify across a few different coins (not everything in Bitcoin), and stay away from those sketchy altcoins promising to triple your investment in a month - that's total BS! The risk is still massive no matter how last year went.
